So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?” He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The Gift of the Holy Spirit
Acts 1 tells us that after his death and resurrection, Jesus appeared to his disciples at various times to show them that he was alive and to talk with them about the Kingdom of God. He also gave them instructions to remain in Jerusalem until they received the gift that was promised by the Father – the Holy Spirit.
When you invite Jesus into your heart, you also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. You become a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The Holy Spirit works in and through us from the moment we surrender to Christ, to change our character and give us godly desires that, God the Father promises to honour (Psalm 37:4).
Guided By the Holy Spirit
Since we have God’s spirit, our lives should be guided by it daily, our actions, decisions, everything about us should be guided by it. When we surrender to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, our lives become a beautiful reflection of God’s love and purpose. The Holy Spirit empowers us to make choices aligned with His will, leading us down paths that bring joy, peace, and fulfillment. As we allow the Spirit to work within us, He brings comfort in times of struggle, wisdom in moments of uncertainty, and conviction when we veer off course. Embracing His presence transforms our actions and decisions into acts of obedience and honor towards God.
Prayer For the Leading of The Holy Spirit
Thank you Lord for the gift of your Holy Spirit. Thank you for filling me with your power and guiding me. Help me to walk daily by your spirit which leads to abundant life and not by my flesh which leads to destruction. Forgive me, Lord for the times that I’ve acted out of my flesh and not according to your Spirit. Empower me everyday to submit to the leading of your Spirit so that my life may glorify you. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
